I've never understood this argument involving career-wide stats. If you look at Kobe play, his scoring feats undoubtedly show him as one of the 3 greatest offensive players in NBA history. He has also routinely obliterated some of the toughest defenses in NBA history with his skillset. That framework takes all of the context out of someone's career and ignores the actual importance of what they accomplished.

What matters most in determining a players greatness is how well he performed in his playoff title runs. (Not just the Finals) Kobe's 5 Playoff Title Runs 2000: 21ppg 2001: 29ppg 2002: 26ppg 2009: 30ppg 2010: 29ppg LeBron's 4 Playoff Title Runs 2012: 30ppg 2013: 25ppg 2016: 26ppg, 7apg 2020: 27ppg, 8apg Based on this comparision alone Kobe's 5 title runs are clearly slightly more impressive than LeBrons.

Lebron is great but the losing finals record will always have him outside the top 5. I think kobe is better in some areas and lebron is better in some areas but overall I'll give it to kobe Lebron plays losing basketball. Heliocentric basketball. Top of the screen drive and kick basketball (luka,harden Westbrook, now caitlin clark and many others) it's good for winning mvps but in order to beat the top teams you need to actually play winning basketball with movement No lebron is not better or greater than kobe if he was he wouldn't of lost 6 titles

You could have a better career than someone and not be better.. Both at their Peak and you had to win 1 game with your life depending on it, MOST PEOPLE would pick Kobe>Bron.

Bron is overall better but is NOT better at Kobe in EVERYTHING, and he is NOT MILES AWAY at Kobe. There are things that Kobe is better at, and Kobe's definitely close to him overall as a player
