Day 13/50 — What is JMS Queue in SAP CPI? (async buffering, retries, and decoupling). #50Days50QuestionsOfCPI

In SAP CPI, a JMS Queue is a durable, FIFO point-to-point channel on the Integration Suite JMS broker. Producers enqueue and consumers dequeue, which decouples systems, absorbs spikes, and supports retries/back-pressure. With proper adapter/QoS settings you can control ordering and delivery (Best Effort, Exactly Once, Exactly Once In Order). Use JMS for async API intake, batch offloading, guaranteed handoff between iFlows, or when downstream is slow/unreliable. Monitor via Manage Stores → JMS Queues to watch depth, consumers, and purge/replay if needed.
