Battlestar Galactica is one of my faves, and also scratches the Expanse itch.

Firefly!! And also Battlestar Galactica, as other gave already mentioned. I think you would def enjoy BSG the most, but Firefly is a nice quick watch. 14 episodes and a movie. You should def check it out.

I'm with you with expanse and the hole it leaves behind, that's why we all follow reactors to try and re-experience it! Foundation (on apple tv) has been my latest favourite thing, sci-fi in an amazing universe, looks stunning and well acted. Also, it stars Jarad Harris so you get to see Anderson Dawes again!

Skam (Norwegian for shame) it’s definitely up there if not my #1. It’s the only “teen drama” that felt real/not written by 45+ year olds pretending to be teens. It was also released in clips online that came out sporadically through the week in “real time” which just heightened how “true to life” it felt. (They also released it as a full episode at the end of every week so it’s not just like a clip show haha). Also the actors had profiles on instagram for their characters and posted in real time, texts etc. it’s an experience that was truly once in a life time. There’s a tumblr archive of most if not all the clips + extras. I would LOVE to see you react to it but definitely recommend watching it even if on your own time. Incredible writing, lots of improv from the cast, who are ALL incredible, powerful messages and everyone is very 3 dimensional even the characters with very little screen time. And if you choose to watch make sure it’s the Norwegian original, it was so good they basically remade it into different countries/cultures (the “skamverse” 😂 France, Italia, etc. ) One of the OG episodes even won an award

Star Trek: DS9 - Though it does have the caveat that some episodes just do hit different (better) when having watched some of Star Trek TOS and TNG, as there are DS9 stories that make more sense knowing the background from the previous series. Stargate SG1 & Atlantis - These two have so many different topics and styles. They also have great cast chemistry. A slight issue is that it has been one of the longest running successful series (SG1 10 season at 23-25 episodes, with SGA joining later with 5 seasons that overlap with SG1's later seasons), which means it can take years to see the full series with release schedules (I think it took "Aftershow Reacts" 3 years to complete reacting to SG1 alone)

Game of Thrones hands down. The first 5 seasons are peak television, nothing beats it.

The Battlestar Galactica reboot (2003 for the 2 part miniseries, 2004-2009 four season run) is both a show I wish I could watch anew and is a show recommendation to help fill the void left behind by The Expanse The BSG reboot helped pave the way for a show like The Expanse (before moving to Amazon The Expanse was a SyFy (formerly SciFi) channel show must like BSG)

Star Trek DS9 shares some sociopolitical conflict parallels with The Expanse , but of course it’s got some of the camp, shenanigans, and lore of the franchise

The Wire, The Expanse, The Good Place, Community, Firefly, Alice in Borderland, there are many more but these are the ones I keep alive by watching with first time reactors like yourself. You are doing a public service, thank you. :hands-yellow-heart-red:

Battlestar Galactica came out way before and the Expanse borrowed a lot their filming style. Not the same story at all. You've already seen Better Call Saul 😆

The German sci-fi mystery drama Dark has stuck with me ever since I first saw it. Phenomenal casting, just like The Expanse! I got my mother and sister to watch it with me (my first rewatch), and we're viewing the final two episodes next weekend. They don't want it to end, either! #ironic #nospoilers

I really miss watching The Expanse…there really isn’t anything else like it.
What shows have you all watched, where you wished you could erase your memory and watch it all over again?
