The NHL relinquished again, I think the process is just there to scare people into paying when they don't have to and the league knows they don;t have to but they say "shhhhhhhhhhhh ..... just tell them how much to license the footage and don;t mention whether we have a legal right to do so or not.... ssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

So the NHL is persisting in its claim that 1993 game broadcasts, specifically between Toronto and Los Angeles, are copyright protected. I am taking it to a second appeal and risking a copyright strike. Intellectual Property Law is clear, after 20 years sports broadcasts enter public domain, as per the 1961 Rome Convention. At this stage the NHL is just saying "yeah, well, we write our own laws and we say it is copyright." Whether Youtube grants them this power or not we will see. But as this page is part of my charitable historical and professional work, I regard the NHL's claims to be a copyright abuse.
