MacTheHuman

Hey everybody,

I don't think I've written a poem since high school, but my friend Chris encouraged me, and look what happened! I hope it's not as angst-ridden as it was back then!

Divine Eigenstates
by Mac

On the horizon of perception and reason there is a place

Gooey black space, thick with promise of significance

It compels me -
repulses me -
with rules, and impossible fees

I am not allowed there. Not before I suffer.

Here, with you, I can only see with
Old, tired eyes, that every day
Things burst with meaning

Not just some things

Have you ever looked
at pond water under a microscope?

God, with his cedar perfumed hand
firmly on the rudder of existence

Crafts light in darkness
And charges with holiness every whip
Of every cilia, every pseudopodic rapture
Every Brownian motion

Vital, somehow, to the unfolding of creation
