i think this was the firstโ€”and maybe the lastโ€”show that felt fully intentional. a consecutive, well thought out production built by a team with vision and the budget to support it without cutting corners. everything was in sync: the model casting, the colour palette, the lighting, the pace, the background staging, the performance; every piece felt like it belonged to the same breath. now people settle for anything as long as itโ€™s โ€œpretty.โ€ but whereโ€™s the heart? the depth? the devotion to pure excellence?

the pressure to cater to everyone now means you have to dilute the craft; simplify the production, dress it up just enough for style points, but strip it of any real conceptual purpose. itโ€™s all surface. for me, victoriaโ€™s secret started to decline in quality the moment they started heavily relying on live performances, burlesque-lite costuming borderline halloween ensembles, and that exaggerated cheerleader persona on the runway. it was no longer about the garments it was about entertaining the wrong crowd. this isnโ€™t cirque du soleil. itโ€™s womenโ€™s lingerie. there was a time it felt artful, aspirational, cohesive. it had a rhythm. but once the gimmicks became the formula, the magic dissolved and the facade cracked. itโ€™s not organic anymore. itโ€™s just a loop that doesnโ€™t know it ended. whatโ€™s been offered from victoriaโ€™s secret for about a decade now has landed as mediocrity. had it come from anywhere else, it mightโ€™ve been passable; not great, but whatever. but from victoriaโ€™s secret โ€” a brand that prided itself and actually succeeded in selling fantasy since 1979 itโ€™s simply a disappointment. every comeback showcase falls short because they refuse to study their own original craftsmanship. thatโ€™s not the publicโ€™s fault. itโ€™s the people behind the curtain. theyโ€™ve failed to sell realism inside fantasy, and they keep trying to cut corners around an impossible mission. the people want earthly angel concepts... but naturally, they donโ€™t want to live a life that constantly affirms to earthly angel standards. and thatโ€™s an understandable, realistic decision. but you canโ€™t have both. somethingโ€™s got to give.

@paradisicallotus

this is the first time i've seen this show (i've been meaning to watch all the shows, but never got around to it). my favourite is 2005, but this has just become my new obsession. i'm absolutely obsessed with all things angelic and fairy-like, which is exactly what this show gave. the woodland nymph segment was so dreamy and they were so dedicated to creating holistic themes (that are actually wearable). the intimate atmosphere and focus on the lingerie itself is what has been missing in the vsfs for a long, long time. i've just added your sub to my playlist, because i absolutely need to capture that energy for myself. thanks so much for putting me on ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿพโ€

Exactly what Iโ€™ve been saying but according to this one dumbass since we arenโ€™t the directors or apparently โ€œdonโ€™t have a chance of walking the vs runwayโ€ {which is a crazy thing to say in a LITERAL MANIFESTING COMMUNITY ๐Ÿ™„} and we are just people who watch from the TV we shouldnโ€™t criticize anything or have an opinion of anything. Like what type of bullshit logic is that? Is not art made to be analyzed by people NOT involved with the project? I guess us as Music listeners shouldnโ€™t say we dislike a song since we arenโ€™t the artist themselves nor the producer like ๐Ÿ˜’? Iswear people be pissing me off with how they think they sound so intelligent and how theyโ€™re shutting you up with their โ€œsmartnessโ€ and itโ€™s like noโ€ฆ I stopped talking to you bc I realize Iโ€™m either speaking with a child who stays with Fs filling the report card or an adult that is still that child who report cards stayed full of Fs. And then another one said I was a pick me for saying โ€œwe are comprehending something entirely differentโ€ meaning people interpret things differently and somehow me saying that makes me a โ€œpick meโ€. I clearly said some people think only on vibes while others itโ€™s abt the art or the full concept likeโ€ฆ wtf? like why do illiterate ass people love replying to me? saying out of context shit when Iโ€™m literally just saying something factual? does the logical way I see things irritate people? I donโ€™t get
