Proud for you, Charles - congratulations. My favourite wrenching channel on YouTube by far - accessible, easy to understand, and your sense of humour is right on my wavelength. You really understand these cars - not only the platforms themselves, but the kinds of things that are likely to go wrong when you're working on twenty year old crusty vehicles and, most importantly, what to do when that invariably happens. No panic, no drama. You deserve all the success - and more.

Charles, you’re the man. Your videos are not just informative—they’re actually fun to watch, which is rare in the DIY car world. You’ve got that perfect mix of wrench-turning know-how and genuine passion, especially when it comes to VAG cars. The way you talk about Audis and VWs, it’s clear this isn’t just a hobby—it’s love. I knew you were “my guy” the first time I stumbled on one of your videos. Since then, I’ve been hooked, always looking forward to the next one. Keep doing what you’re doing—this community needs voices like yours. Wishing you another million subscribers and then some. You’ve earned it. Stay awesome, man. The garage gods are proud

Thank you for sharing your knowledge & experience. If not for you & Paul, there'd a lot of us would have given up trying to fix our sh*t & bought a Honda minivan.

Congratulations Charles - this is an awesome milestone and one that isn’t easy to achieve. The fact that you have not actively sought to grow your channel too, speaks volumes to the quality of your workmanship, your integrity, and your humility and transparency in every one of your videos. You deserve your bow, and your success. 🎉👍

When i saw this post, my first reaction was 'Wait he wasn't already at 1 million?' You have helped way more than that many people through your videos - VW fans or not and it's people like you that will keep the car world moving forward for generations to come... or at least as long as YouTube is still around

Congratulations Charles! 💪 Thanks to you, I'm almost finished rebuilding my 2017 Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition 2.0L TSI engine! I replaced the pistons & rings, had the machine shop do a valve job & new seals, and I've replaced all of the engine seals and all of the timing chains & tensioners. Using your videos as a guide, coupled with technical information concerning torque values, I'm very confident as I am getting nearer to the end of this project. Thank you again, many times over, for your dedication and your attention to the details. Cheers!

Dude, you are the best! And your humorous, easy to follow videos really do help people. Just yesterday, I was watching a video where you were fighting with a headliner (as one does) on a MK7, and I realized that my wife's '23 Arteon uses a lot of the same hardware. It has been making a buzzing noise from the sun visor clip since getting some hail damage fixed, and because of a random part of a video that wasn't exclusively about headliners, I was emboldened to do some "exploratory maintenance" based on the stuff I saw in your video. No need to waste half a day taking it in for warranty work, and no more "sadness" from the visor clip, thanks to your content! Edit: Now that I think about it, you were there in spirit (on my phone, propped up on the battery) when I replaced the intake manifold on her '13 GTI when the runner flaps failed too! I was a heavy aircraft mechanic for 22 years, and have been working on cars since I was 12, but that was my first attempt at putting a wrench to a German car. I definitely appreciated the support your video provided!

Honestly I would be happy to have just 1/10 of the knowledge you have & display on your channel on Volkswagens. But the little things I can do, even as simple as changing / adapting a battery to my mk8.. you have helped me do. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this channel. It is by far my favorite “wrenching” channel since I’m a VW guy for life. Keep up the great work Charles!

I woke up to this insane milestone this morning. 1 million subscribers on @YouTube. It's absolutely wild to me. I never really set out for that. It kind of all started when I wanted to share that the dealer I worked for wasn't the "stealership" that people were used to. It was a place where we all really cared about customers’ cars. A place that always tried to do the right thing. Sure, mistakes were made, things got damaged and broken, but in the end, it was made right.
Now I’m sitting here reflecting on the fact that over 1 million people said, "Hey, I want to see more videos like this." I’m still not sure I can fully wrap my head around it. I still remember the first email I got saying "THANK YOU" from someone who used my widow maker video to change their tire. Funny enough, I shot that with my iPhone 3GS. LOL.
If you know me, you know I don’t get real high on milestones. I’m thankful for them and all, but getting too high on things usually means getting low on things too. Being a flat rate tech taught me you gotta ride the middle. LOL. Celebrate small things like a bolt extraction. HA! Now that’s a high to ride.
But right now, right this minute, I’m pretty hyped. I’m insanely thankful. I really can't put the words together for how much I appreciate each of you. If this is the first post you have ever seen, or you have been around since the MK1 VR6 swap days, THANK YOU! Man, that just doesn't even feel like enough. Just know that I really do appreciate each of you. I hope that this channel has helped you out in some way. I also hope you can pass that help on to someone else.
Sincerely, THANK YOU
Charles
