“How many times per day do you think about the Teutonic order?”

Definitely wouldn’t side with the knights pretending they were doing God’s work, when in reality it was all about power and conquest.

Going with the Teutons here. An eastern frontier Europe ruled by Crusading knights would've been epic to see unfold historically.

Kievan Rus. The Teutons were in the wrong to invade a people that didn't threaten them.

I genuinely don't know who's who, but I have a square head and feel I'd fit in the square helmet better

Yeah... I'm joining the winning side. Teutonic Knights is cool and all, but I don't want to be on the losing side before Geneva convention is written.

the side that was defending their homeland, won, and didn't drown in the lake due to the weight of their own armour

The Tectonic Knights were notorious land-grabbers and FREQUENTLY exceeded their mandate. Whether in Hungary, where they had to be driven of by force of arms by the king, or later in the Baltic where they betrayed their alliance and stewardship of lands, or in the extermination of civilians, I am not a fan of their dubious motives. Although I am Catholic, so were the Poles, so became the Archduke of Lithuania, I could not align with this transparently self-serving lot.

With my Slavic ancestors of course, but I highly doubt the men would allow me to fight 😅
