They're part of A problem, but they aren't THE problem. By that I mean, THE problem with bad and/or greedy products is more often than not, a deliberate choice from the company or the company's owners. The consumer is not solely responsible for reprimanding a company's decisions, but they can be A part of it. That part being, financial support. I consider this problem separate. However, even then, people who buy the product aren't entirely THE problem either. There are many people who buy a product that are simply unaware there are better alternatives and that they're being scammed. They see nothing wrong with what they're doing, and that isn't their fault. Rather, I'd say it's the fault of others for not spreading the word of alternatives. The only thing that can defeat crappy products is knowledge that it even IS crap to begin with. If I had to say what THE problem was, it would be people who insult others for buying scummy products. Just inform them of alternatives instead of trying to belittle them. Educate them instead of separating them from you. (I'm not accusing you of doing this, just saying this is my take.)

Money is unfortunately one of the only ways to get a company to listen and change their ways

I'm not even talking about things that are morally dubious. Like your stuff is made in a sweatshop. But like... idk. I've seen certain games like pokemon that don't actually improve by much and people just BUY BUY BUY IT. Like it won't matter how much you complain. it'll just sell. it doesnt matter if it's your decision. You can makeit l... but you gotta at least agree you are part of the problem. You are the reason companies don't improve. If you don't care about that. more power to ya. But "Just me have fun" won't cut it. at least admit you are selfish.

Even if you’re ignorant about it or not, supporting it is part of the problem

kinda yeah, though I think if they really liked the product and think they got their money's worth no one else should got around telling them to stop so just being hostile towards those people is not right and personally I blame the way things work now more than those people, a lot of people got too used to brand familiarity tactics and automated recommendation algorithms so they are just not used to even trying something new that goes out of their comfort zone so even when there's a better option out it will be ignored unless it belongs to an equally big brand and has a name that carries as much weight or gets fed to them by a streamer they like, steam recommendations, "for you" pages and all that
