Yes…. Need to find your own boundaries… Whatever level(s) that may be…. Discipline is important.. so many ways to implement new lessons.. always need to be open for new ways to learn…. 😈

Let’s talk about one of the most real reasons change doesn’t stick.
Not laziness.
Not lack of discipline.
Not even burnout (though—yep, that’s real too).

It’s clarity. Or more honestly… the lack of it.
So many of us say we want to feel better.
Be healthier.
Get stronger.
Stress less.
And those desires are valid and important.
But without clear boundaries, those goals become foggy forests we get lost in.
And if your nervous system already feels like it’s working overtime,
wandering around in fog is the last thing it wants to do.
This is where I used to get stuck.
I’d write things in my journal like:
“Be more grounded.”
“Work out regularly.”
“Eat better.”
Cool. But what does that actually mean, Rhy? 😅
Cue the SMARTER framework.
Because yes, I need structure to stay sane—and sometimes I need to remind myself that vague intentions aren’t supportive, they’re stressful.
Here’s what SMARTER stands for (and why it helps):
🔹 Specific – Say what you’re doing
🔹 Measurable – Know how you’ll track progress
🔹 Actionable – You can actually do it, now
🔹 Realistic – No perfectionist overcommitment
🔹 Timely – There’s a start & end
🔹 Evaluated – You reflect on how it’s going
🔹 Reassessed – You make it better, not harder
Without clarity, your nervous system panics.
With clarity, it exhales.
This is the difference between “get fit” and:
👉 “Do a 30-minute workout Monday–Friday, from 6:00 to 6:30 a.m., from May 1 to May 31.”
That’s a SMARTER goal. And that’s what I’ll be doing come May 1st.
(Okay, maybe with a coffee in hand and a playlist titled “Vaguely Motivated but Trying.”)
Pro tip from someone still figuring it out:
Break it down.
You don’t have to see the top of the staircase.
You just need to step on the first stair without tripping over your own expectations.
And please, don’t forget to check in.
Weekly evaluations give you data.
Monthly tweaks give you power.
Change isn’t a one-and-done—it’s a relationship. With yourself.
So check in, not check out.

Here’s to goals that feel like nourishment, not punishment.
Here’s to clarity that doesn’t crush you.
And here’s to us—all tender humans with messy hearts and good intentions—trying again, one smarter step at a time.
With love, awkward lunges, and weekly check-ins,
Rhy 💛
