Derrick Gee

Hi friends. If I can ask a favour of you?

Next week, I will be putting out another public episode of Solid Air - and it is with one of my music heroes. I think you will be very excited to find out who it is.

All I ask is that if it interests you, to watch as much of it as you can. If it doesn’t interest you, that is fine. But if it does, I ask that you sit and enjoy it. Not only because it is beautiful but because I get asked every single day “how do you discover a new music?” or “I’m stuck in a music rut”.

This show flies in the face of what this platform is designed for. Short, snackable, click baity videos. It’s designed this way because I think it is the most pure form of music discovery – to sit down and hear the stories of others and enjoy music together. It is an hour long and that does not bode well for algorithms generally

But if you take the time with it, I guarantee you that it will be nourishing to your soul.

Peace,
Derrick

Yes! It’s not always possible for me to watch your stuff immediately (I‘m still yet to watch the Elbphilarmonie set), but it’s a nice feeling to make time for something and be present for it. Keep doing you!

I’m a convert since the Richard Russell episode man, watched the whole thing and loved every second. Love the free flow format and it helped me rekindle my love for Can, keen for whatever episodes are coming

Personally I think you would benefit from releasing it as a podcast. And use a platform like Spotify for example. Anyway, I'll be watching, or listening at least!
