Okefenokee Joe!!! "joy of snakes" opened my eyes to the world of animals that are out there besides the domesticated ones! rest in peace and thank you for your commitment to animals and education. Without you, Dick - we would have never had The Kratt Brothers or many other animal activists out there <3

Shaped many'a childhood to be Swamp wise. I live in GA, and Joe was a major celebrity. Right up there with Wolfman Jack and Dukes of Hazzard. 😂I remember visiting the Okefenokee swamp with my family and i think they were building a pavilion for 'Joe'to give his talks. Was long ago, but I won't ever forget the sun speckled thru the canopy, the excitement of seeing the animals, and the certainty that Okefenokee Joe WAS Swampeaise, and we would all be safe if we minded him. ❤ Thank you Dick Flood for the memorie
