I don't think I've ever missed a single TWIVG episode, I look forward to it every week and I don't mind it being longer honestly. I trust that whatever you'll be putting out will be great anyway.

Just became a patreon subscriber. TWIVG is probably my most anticipated upload to this platform each week. I absolutely adore video games as an art form and find them to be some of the more visceral artistic experiences you can have. It’s been incredible watching this channel grow the way it has, with Austin being a fantastic addition to the team (even with all that Guild Wars 2 stuff lol). Thank you, not only for inspiring me to play Nier: Automat, but just giving me something to look forward to every Tuesday(ish). 🥳

We have full trust that you'll deliver quality content regardless of what you choose to do. Thanks for all the work you do, man.

Absolutely go for it sir! Yourself and Austin are amazing. Do whatever you need to do to ensure you don't experience burnout and ensure that you continue to enjoy what you put out. Everything on your channel are some of the best gaming information out there. Freinds per second, reviews, pre views, hands on. All of your videos are amazing. So again in short. Go for it

Watching TWIV whilst having a nice morning coffee is a weekly routine for me at this point. Props to you and Austin for making it such a long running weekly highlight for many of us gamers.

TWIVG is, hands down, the best source for weekly video game news that I've come across. Any expansion to your coverage is more than welcome. Keep up the stellar work, Ralph!

I don’t have Patreon. And I am okay with the format as it stands. But I am more than happy to support whatever you choose to add as long as the current weekly stays. I enjoy the feeling like we’re both sitting down for coffee and you’re telling me the news. Rather than something more than that. Either way I trust your insight and direction.

I found you back when I was looking for good “the division 1” content, and you’ve grown a lot since then. I think you have evolved into one of the very best gaming content creators out there for those seeking information. I love every review you’ve done, even if I didn’t agree with your verdict. You make high quality content my friend and I don’t care how long your videos get I will always watch them. Follow your instincts. If you want to change or add or subtract then do those things. It’s important for you to stay inspired, enjoy what you do, and I think change will always be part of that process. TLDR- make the changes, if you like them, keep them, if not? Don’t.

Every morning before work I listen to Spawn Wave. But the mornings I get to wake up to Skill Up and hear all the news I have already heard are my favorite mornings. Any more content from you would be much appreciated

I've been a fan of yours for a long time. Since at least Laymen. I think that you've organically grown your channel in a very entertaining and amazing way and you've become to me one of the best sources for games and gaming news in it's relevance and in consumer and developer advocacy. I definitely think expanding to cover those odd days or weird breaking news moments is something people want to see or listen to, myself included. You're doing amazing, Ralph.

We need a reward tier where you release an exclusive The Division vendor reset video. Call it the throwback tier.

Since I'm paying for YouTube Premium already, I (a) am not concerned about the ad -free content and (b) am not looking to go for another subscription. With that said, I would love to see you continue to expand the offerings and grow your brand, and if that means pursuing avenues that others will enjoy and pay for, I say more power to you. Your videos are awesome, and I personally don't feel the need for TWIVG to be kept to half an hour, unless it's for your own work/life balance. Otherwise, more is better! I'm personally less interested in a newsletter because of how I tend to consume your videos (typically while multitasking, like making dinner or doing dishes), but if I was going to read a newsletter, it would probably be yours. Best wishes to you!

I love your voice, both literally and your writers’ voice. This Week in Gaming is definitely something I always look forward to to break up my week. Would not be a fan of a newsletter myself, and already enjoy listening to the Friends Per Second podcast. The video really adds to it, especially when it comes to games I haven’t heard of yet. I also wouldn’t mind longer episodes at all. Every time you mention you’re trying to keep it short, I’m like “why? Give me all the good stuff!” If there’s one segment I’d drop, it would be the subscriptions updates. Love your work, keep at it, and when my situation allows I’ll subscribe on Patreon!

The convenience of having the news, in one location, presented the way you do (us Aussies just do it better 😁), is perfect for me. Make the episodes longer, all good, as long as there doesn't turn in to AC: Valhalla... long, for longs sake. Knowing your style of presentation, doubt that would happen anyway

Every time you say “This one’s a little long” all I can think is “Man you could make this a full hour and we would still watch it” I love all the segments you cover and would love if you can slow down and say the things you want to say. You can give mini reviews on games you aren’t making full reviews for, give more put this on your radar, and whatever else you see fit to do. Keep up the amazing content man.

Bro you've got the format perfect already, i never miss an episode. It usually feels like just the right amount of time on each topic. The Microsoft leak was probably my least favourite episode which while a very broad topic still felt like less of a roundup than the usual episodes. Im sure the show would be good whatever you decide to do but id be cautious before adding too much more. It may be somewhat creatively stifiling but sometimes you just get things perfect early on. Its called suffering from success 😂

Podcast format would go crazy. Your videos already kinda like that, but I imagine a longer form, fully-audio format with longer breakdowns and expanded segments (like the indie section) could be super super cool.

I really enjoy the long-form content that TWIVG has been giving. Something maybe a little shorter than the podcast y’all do would be great. Love the analysis, thoughtfulness, and honesty that goes into each one.

Alright, I just read through your proposal. I think you're making the right move by not paywalling any of the current content, and the proposed improvements are quite nice too. Honestly if you just divide the videos into the broader sections that's enough for me. Sometimes I rewatch videos to remember a particular indie game you highlighted in your "put this on your radar" segment. I personally used to listen to TWiVG in podcast format until you stopped putting those up (I'm not sure why this happened, perhaps something to do with RoI?), so a return to that would be great news for me. A newsletter sounds like a great idea, but I'm not sure how many people actually read anything beyond just headlines these days. I do think I'd like that, though. I can't really speak for the paywalled content, as I'm a broke af student at the moment, but I think about 5 USD or under is what people might be willing to pay. Thanks for all the great work you and Austin do on the channel, and I hope whomever you bring on later also fits in as seamlessly :)

The only show I come back for every week. The quality is so consistently funny, well written, and presented. Even if you put it out in some other form I’ll watch it on YouTube as well.

Hey all - I'm thinking about expanding This Week in Videogames 'offering' (not changing the core show, but adding some new things around it). When it comes to news, there's more I'd like to cover, and I'd like to cover it in some different ways giving you the chance to get it ad-free, or in podcast/newsletter form.
I've outlined my thinking here in a Patreon post. If you have the time I'd love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to reply here if you don't have a Patreon account. Thanks.
