So I've heard about FPE for... a while, actually, and I finally got to watch " Kaaatie's " video (reuploaded, obviously. Found out about what happened). This is just me spilling what I think without really knowing anything about it aside "it exists".
In all honesty, I see what it's going for, but I don't really get the appeal for it. Is it the style? Probably, you definitely don't see this type of animation everyday, aside maybe those stopmotion Paper Mario animators, but that's really the closest equivalent I can think of. Maybe it's just the story told by the video, but I kinda doubt that because it takes Baldi's Basics and just raises it to 11/10, so maybe it's not that.
I could go on and on trying to analyze what gave this video so much traction, but I don't really think I'd know. Not without a general opinion from the fandom at least. It's definitely an interesting project, and knowing that Kaaatie MAYBE will make a comeback under a new account really gives me hope for her future projects.
