Today our sports events started, and we were all excited, especially because I am in the Blue team. Our school has a strict rule that we must wear white school shoes with our house uniform. But our teacher suddenly cut 20 points from us without any proper reason, which made us feel sad and confused. Then we saw that two girls from the Green team were wearing sports shoes, which are not allowed and give a stronger grip, so they won unfairly.
In my race, I came second, but the teacher made a silly excuse and didn’t even announce my position properly. My friend came first twice when she ran for no reason — the teacher kept saying she didn’t say “go.” She still got into the finals, but because she had already run so many times, she had difficulty breathing and felt exhausted. Yet no one cared about how tired she was.... Only my team and my three frnds cared about her, i have introduced them down....
We tried to tell the teacher about the shoe rule, but she ignored us. The Green team even teased us, even though teasing can get a student banned from sports for five years because my school principal herself said “you should cheer them but not tease the other teans”. One of the girls who teased us was already restricted last year, but she still got to play. It felt like partiality and unfair treatment — almost like nepotism.
What really touched my heart was when three of my friends from other houses stood up for us. Two were from Yellow and one from Red. Even though their teams are our rivals, they defended us because they knew what was fair and what wasn’t. I felt so happy and thankful that they supported us.
Today was individual sports for our class only, but the points still count for our house teams on Saturday and Sunday team sports day. We decided that even if we get disqualified for speaking the truth, we won’t be upset, because we played fair, followed every rule, and didn’t cheat. Tomorrow, we will tell another teacher, because we deserve fairness and respect just like everyone else.
