To show solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla, the largest yet to set sail to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza, South Africans gathered at Zoo Lake in Johannesburg on August 31.
Since Israel launched its attack on the Gaza on October 2023, South Africa has maintained a firm stance, expressing support for the Palestinians, including filing a case at the ICJ, accusing Israel of genocide.
As a part of the Sumud flotilla, participants from more than 40 countries will board boats carrying humanitarian aid, aiming to break the blockade and deliver urgent relief to Gaza.
