Games workshop sees a self sustaining free advertisement for their flagship game and destroys it because they don’t own it. The only reason I knew 40k existed was because of the art fans produced.

@JCDenton3

Games Workshop doesn't deserve their fans. The company was built entirely by passionate people who left for other projects a long time ago, the people in charge now are cynical and absolutely clueless.

Should we start downloading your videos to be able to re-watch them or will you move to another plattform or ... what will you do?

Sadly, I am not surprised that the lull in striking was short lived.:_janoTwo:

As much as people don't want to hear it. Its kind of necessary on their part to maintain IP rights. If they let people take the IP of even do license deals at small cost, it sets a real legal precedent - at least in the UK/EU. I deal with similar IP contracts in sports. It's shady and shitty, but honestly it's a fairly pragmatic response. I truly believe people only get angry because its big company, flip this to someone taking a youtubers IP and you'd get drones attacking them left and right. I LOVE Janovichs content- but at the end of the day you take someone else's property and make your own version of it, that's a fine line to tread.

I'm glad I pirated hammer and bolter instead of subbing to their platform. it was cool, but essentially someone cut out comic book stills and played music over them with decent voice acting. to call it animated is an affront to animation studios

@TXDrxw23

it’s 2025. we need to straight up stop buying GW products. i don’t care if it’s your hobby or not this is now at the point where they look at us fans as pawns, that’s not what 40k was about. Stop subscribing, stop watching, and stop buying!

Catch me mainlining trench crusade, where all the problems with that game can be solved by avoiding the official discords. Total cost of my army including the printer I DID NOT HAVE TO BUY BECAUSE A FRIEND ALREADY OWNS ONE: $800 Cost per army after that: $100 Cost of the rules: $0 I could build and paint 8 full trench crusade armies for the price it’ll cost to finish my admech, and that’s including the printer cost plus materials.

I love what GW has created but i hate them as a company. I wish they would stop and consider that if a single content creator leads to someone purchasing a book or model makes them money then they would support creators more.

Yeah see, this is why I got back into Battletech. The IP owners don't hate the fuck out of their fans for no reason at all. Amazing community too. Plus army building didn't completely destroy my bank account. I bought an army bigger than I'll probably ever need for just over 200 bucks.
