Hey, my Beautiful flowers!!! ππ·πΉπͺ»πͺ·πΊπΈπΌπ»
How's it going? Am I the only one navigating a season of resistance? It's like being stuck between productivity and rest. As the end of the year approaches, I'm struggling to stay productive. I'm ready for some cool weather, the beauty of autumn trees, and going to the fair. I want to kick my feet up and relax, but I have deadlines.
While I push to finish the year strong, I've spent a lot of time praying, meditating, reflecting, and reading. After a series of signs and revelations, the Lord led me to a book by Peter Scazzero. In the first 30 minutes of the audiobook, Peter introduces a new term called "emotionally underdeveloped."
As a therapist, I'm no stranger to terms like emotionally unavailable, emotional security, emotional intelligence, emotional boundaries, and childhood emotional trauma... I pondered his explanation of the term, and it all made sense.
Peter explained that most of us leave home emotionally underdeveloped. Basically, we lack the emotional maturity needed to function as healthy adults. He also points out that we can't be spiritually mature and remain emotionally immature. If you are struggling emotionally but thriving spiritually, this book may be helpful.
