As an Iranian woman, I stand with all women of south Africa and other places. We've also been fighting for our rights and still have a long way to go. I think the situation will get worse everywhere because certain beliefs are coming back. So us women really need to support eachother at all costs

I see South African women leading this National Women Shutdown movement
The movement is to protest against gender based violence
And I am participating in this movement π
In South Africa
A woman is unalived every 3 hours
R@p3 crime has been reported every 12 minutes
And who knows how much more cases were left unreported due to fear of being unalived or h@rm3d
This is fucking atrocious
And just because it is happening in South Africa doesnβt mean youβre safe in your own country
This is happening in your own country too
You probably just donβt hear about it
Or most of these cases werenβt reported
As long as youβre a woman or a minor girl, this could happen to you at any time since this is GENDER-based
No woman is safe on this planet
Speak up, join the movement
Be as loud as you can about this
Enough is enough
