It was around the time Eddie got shot I became aware of Buddie and got interested in 9-1-1. But when last season didn't advance a Buddie plot at the end even though everything seemed like it had been laid out to make it possible, I realized that the producers have been gaybaiting their audience with these two characters, and for quite a while. Watching the actors trotted out for finale promo, laughing about how "crazy" some of their fans are for their theories was the real nail in the coffin for me.

I don't really F with eddie after he treated evan. With that fake, no apology ass shit bring chris and his aunt to the house like wtf nope, and last week's episode, he still was being an 🍆 ick. Naw evan deserves better he needs a nice BF or GF, whatever which one, and I was thinking he go a class reunion and re connect with some old friends. The issue is that Buddie fans are looking for confirmation bias and then when it doesn't happen, they blame the show. I've literally seen fans take a line that Eddie said about straightening picture frames as confirmation and then when a journalist asked Tim about it, he said it was just a common turn of phrase, and he never intended it to mean anything other than the literal sense, and the Buddie fans called Tim a liar. Buddie fans keep coming up with theories like the Buddie roommate theory, which never happened, and then get pissed when the canon doesn't support it.
