Japan has no say in the matter. The U.S. should, out of s sign of respect, send the Ambassador to observe China’s victory as it was a Union, temporarily between the Nationalist and Communist forces to defeat Japan. This is just like I had zero problems when Vietnam observed its victory over my country, the United States, earlier this Spring. In fact Japan ought to send its Ambassador with a proclamation declaring its guilt in the invasion and occupation of Manchuria and the deaths of the 20 million Chinese it was responsible for from 1931 to 1945.

JPN should officially make excuses for their wrong-doing in WW2. Especially against China. Nanjing massacre. Unit 731. ☠️☠️Of 250.000 civilians for rescuing the Doolittle Raiders.

Frump will be so jealous of China's real military parade compared to the lethargic one he was given in DC 😂🤣😂

WW2 was a massive stain on the soul of Japan, the massacre of Nanjing, looting priceless Chinese heritage, murdering Chinese, Korean people. Japan never paid reparations for what they did. I hope every major leader attends the parade to show Japan how little influence it has.

This type of tone from Japan is disrespectfully unacceptable. I'm Hungarian and although we fought on the wrong side in WWII we were prepared to switch sides near the end and after the war we were the only ones whose government openly criticised and prosecuted the officials who sided with the Germans against the Allies. Now we are more or less on better terms with our former enemies and yes we don't attend victory days in Russia even if Russia openly invited us to it, we don't tell others to not attend such events. You have to make peace and move past such events with your former enemies otherwise we will all be stuck in the past and never get anywhere in the future. This is why we are on good terms with the Austrians, the Turks, and even the Mongols despite what they did to us in the past.

Amazing how the mask of Japanese politeness falls off when uncomfortable truths are revealed.

It's like telling jews don't attend holocaust memorials for what Nazi Germany did against jews. Let's try that in September too and see if japan supports that and gets on a soap box to shout it out.

One week to go! China's V-Day parade will take place in Beijing on Sept.3!
Eighty years ago, the brave Chinese people, with scarce weapons, stood firm and defeated the Japanese invaders. Today, China stands proud on the global stage, showcasing its new-generation military strength to defend peace and justice.
Meanwhile, the Japanese govt. had been asking foreign leaders not to attend China's event and claiming it had "anti-Japanese overtones," which again shows the importance of uncovering WWII stories that happened in the Eastern theatre.
What do you think of Japan's response, and what do you expect to see from the upcoming event?
Let me know your questions and thoughts!
