Classic. I actually tried going vegetarian once too, but my stomach made it pretty clear I needed meat for energy and digestion. Miranda and I are really glad to be back into your videos again. We’d stepped away for a while because of an old friend who was uncomfortable with your content — mostly the psychological insight. We tried defending it, but it was like explaining vegetarianism to someone offering turkey bacon. We’d love to see you play The Talos Principle — preferably as static videos, not a live stream if possible. It’s a slower-paced puzzle game with great writing and surprisingly powerful themes about legacy, loss, and consciousness. Feels like something you’d bring a lot of insight to. Happy gaming, and thank you for everything you share. 🎮

Similar thing with my wife. She orders the restaurant signature burger but with a veggie patty. She forgot to say "no bacon" but you would think it would be a given. Or at the very least a question. Nope! She got her veggie burger with bacon on it.

Highly doubt it was a lack of education and more so she just wasn’t paying attention to what he fully asked as she was prolly dealing with multiple tables etc. she probably only heard substitution for bacon and turkey bacon is indeed a substitution for bacon.

Darkness
Recently, a friend was commemorating a special day and invited my son Rowan and me to join them. Given that I’m such a good friend (and that they insisted on paying), we happily joined them for a breakfast at IHOP.
Rowan has been, of his own accord, an unwavering vegetarian for years. So when the seemingly sleep-deprived waitress asked him what he wanted to order, he naturally wanted to know what could be substituted for bacon, given he’s a vegetarian.
I’m gonna need to stress that the waitress was told very clearly he’s asking because he’s a vegetarian.
Her response?
And I quote: “Turkey bacon? Turkey sausage?”
REJOICE, VEGETARIANS! You have new options on the table!
The experience was eye-opening.
… since, before she said that, I was quite tired, but now my eyes were wide open, wondering how she got this far in life.
Stay tuned for more entries into the ongoing series “A Very Unexpected Day in the Life of Darkness Jackson.”
