This is where people cannot make a difference between what us readers knew (by picking up revelations and clues throughout the SH adventure) and what OnePiece inhabitants know. The target audience of the broadcast which are OP inhabitants don't know what we know. And since it's huge news, Vegapunk needs to not only convey it in a digestible manner but also show/prove that it is legit. The fact that he asked people to make preparations for the broadcast is telling.

Unrelated but I think giving your thoughts like this on community posts is awesome and you should do it more often. The community knows you're busy but we love hearing your thoughts about the series from all angles!

I agree in terms of Wano, but eggheead's pacing has been good. This isn't much news for non casuals, but it is for others

Understandable, I think its also a consequence of weekly reading. I have friends that prefer reading the chapters in bulk because the pacing feels much better than having to go week by week. I am loving these chapters tho and love the reaction of the whole OP world.

I think the chapters have been perfectly paced to be fair. Vegapunk is telling a very dense story in the best way he can, by setting the scene and providing context so that everyone in the world can understand the severity of the situation

I don't think Oda is stalling for fear of the series ending. This is pretty standard Shonen stuff, especially with what will turn out to be arguably the biggest reveal of the series.

Sawyer going from complaining that the end of Wano is rushed to egghead is stalling is so funny

it feels like you’re just being cranky cause this chapter didn’t give your video format a lot to talk about this week. The story is perfectly paced right now.

The crazy part is that he’s stretching out VPs story when there’s so many other aspects to the story that could use more fleshing out. For all this stalling with VP story he could have added Yamato to the crew added more story to make their membership mean more. And for some reason I feel we haven’t seen the last of Kaido or Big Mom so that’s more story he could use right there. Like don’t stretch shit just tell more shit on other aspects.

Pacing is good when reading it as a book. Maybe you're fed up with waiting 2 weeks for a chapter

I genuinely don't think Oda thinks about One Peice in this way. Shueisha and his editors maybe, but Oda clearly loves One Peice and I don't think he would compromise his story to this extent for money. I think Egg Head Island has been really well paced in general and while I do agree the VP message could have been handled better, I don't think Oda is purposely dragging it out. It's adding a lot of suspense and giving him a chance to cut to reactions from all the amazing characters he's introduced over 1000+ chapters.

You can change the format of your reviews to review the volumes instead of the chapters

It’s good to hear you say this because others are just blind to the hype and the crumbs they’ve been giving us all the sake of “long term story building” we are 1111+chapters in the series btw

I can tell in advance no video this week- this chahad nothing. At this rate, it might be a good call to drop one piece alltogether, until it is over.

Oda wants the series to end SOONER, not later, lol. He constantly talks about how he wants the series to end so he can spend more time with his family. This chapter is paced fine if you’re not a weekly reader obsessed with pulling every detail from a single chapter. Not every chapter can be dense: Vegapunk has to convey the basic information as well(again, he doesn’t write the story assuming his readers know everything already.) I think claiming Oda’s stalling the message because he’s scared of ending his cash cow is absurd and a little divorced from reality Sawyer. Oda has spent half his life and compromised his health in so many ways to tell this story, and he’s constantly taking about ending the story within the next few years and how he’ll end it on his terms. You can criticize the pacing all you want but claiming he’s dragging it out for money because a single chapter didn’t have multiple major reveals? Downright disrespectful.

He’s literally telling the world what knows. Just because it’s not as fast as you want it doesn’t mean he’s dragging it out for money

Most one piece fans cannot accept any criticism about the series unfortunately, as seen in these comments..

I dont agree with this Good pacing doesnt mean rushing through everything Drama still needs to be a part of the story Oda in fact wants to end the series He just loves it too much to rush over something so important without giving it the weight its supposed to have

Feel it’s a bit pessimist to believe that’s why the pacing is this way and not that Oda wants to gas his 1001 characters he’s made over the years.

I understand that it’s in Oda’s best interest to stall V.P.’s message as much as possible because the sooner he gives us answers, the closer the series is to its end. One Piece is a money-printing machine at this point (for Shueisha Et al.) due to its popularity, and having it stop is scary, I just wish the pacing of the story wasn’t compromised so much because of it.
