It's clusterin' time! (Again)

After over two years, the Compute Blades I ordered on Kickstarter finally arrived. Doing and re-doing things (and re-doing them again) ten times is fun! I wish Ansible had a physical hardware installation plugin.

@bananaman5105

my favourite part of clustorbius is when Jeff Gearling said "It's clusterin' time!" and then he clustered all over the place

I would love a Beowulf style cluster of these guys. It's impractical nowadays, but it would be interesting to see the results!

If your network switch supports it you could try playing around with class of service and quality of service markings on each Compute Blade for cluster traffic and then configure the switch to prioritize that traffic ahead of the rest.

Ridiculously expensive, borderline unobtainable & wholly impractical for the average user? Oh yeah i'm in. πŸ˜‚ I'm actually curious how something like CEPH would perform on this for distributed computing. Assuming it's 40 cores, 80 gigs of ram and 10 terabytes of storage all together

Look awesome! I would love to learn if there are real-world applications for this cluster for an enthusiastic home-labber :)

I want a Jetson compatible ComputeBlade so bad. These things would be awesome with the Turing RK1's on board.

Physical hardware installation is a USB thumb drive with the pre-configurated bootable Image with all whistle "struggle-free" just like some K8 community mods for RPi clusters back in the day

It’s clustering time! Mastodon! Terabyte storage! Cat6 networking! Secure Shell! Tyrannosaurus!

I'm sure Musk will have that Ansible driven robot delivered real soon.
