An Alaskan non-profit called Bethel Friends of Canines which typically helps reheome animals, has helped charter a plane to rescue 50-100 dogs from the town of Kipnuk in the midst of evacuations.
The rescued dogs traveled about 90 miles by plane to the nearest shelter in Bethel. The rescue organization has stated the rescue cost them $3000 to execute and that they aren’t sure how many times they are going to have to do similar operations in the coming days or weeks. They have managed to raise over $22,000 dollars since last Wednesday for the rescue efforts.
