The Limiting Factor

Hi Folks!

After a few months of grinding, I'm finally gearing up to assemble the next video:

'The Global Lithium Supply Chain and Tesla’s 50% Growth Rate'

I just finished recording the raw audio (4 hours uncut) and the roughly 600 slides are complete. All that's left is to trim the audio down to the 1 hour ~40 minute finished product and nail everything together.

I'm hoping to do all that and some final peer review before releasing sometime mid to late next week.

Here's the plan for the release:

1) Release the full video for Patreon Supporters, YouTube Members, and Twitter Subscribers when it's finished.

2) Break it down into 6 separate videos to be released every two weeks for the general public here on YT, with the 7th being the release of the full video. These will essentially be clips, but fully formed videos on their own right.

I'm taking that approach for several reasons:

1) Some people like smaller videos and other people like larger videos. This should address both preferences. This was the best compromise I could think of.

2) The YT algorithm would punish me if I did the video in 1 release and then didn't make videos for a couple months.

3) Beyond that, this will give me a much needed break. I haven't taken any real time for myself in the past 3.5 years besides moving. 🤠

That is, there won't be much new content in the next couple of months because this video was a real slog. There will be at least 1 extra video that I'll do, and that'll be the Q2 earnings call video in late July.

Thanks for all your suppport of the channel! It put me in a really unique position to engage with people across the industry: Analysts, analyst houses, lithium mining executives, and people who used to work in Tesla's lithium supply chain negotiating multi-billion dollar contracts.

I'm excited to share the video! Much like the 'How a Lithium Ion Battery Actually Works' video, it's a high effort, high risk, one off that should serve as good reference material for a while.

Ekectrek has news that refreshed Tesla M3 will have CATL M3P batteries. I'm trying to find out more about them, but info is thin. Some say they have magnesium, zinc and aluminum added. Others think the magnesium is a typo and it should be manganese. No one ever says if they have moved away from a graphite anode. Any ideas?
