Hello from Langdon Beck on a very dry Pennine Way and thanks for your encouragement in getting me here. Your walks keep getting longer and I hope we can meet again next year. Love to your mother - I'm sure she appreciates you coming to take care of her.

Take a look at Elli Hikes channel, a German lady who like you spends a lot of her time hiking round britain, she did the route you're doing but the opposite way round, her videos may give you some idea of what to expect along the way plus some of her other videos may give you ideas for walks in future years. Hope your mum feels better soon.

Speedy recovery to your mum. I have walked and recommend, The Summits of Somerset and Avon walk from SWCP at Minehead to Bristol, but path continues to Chepstow (Offas Dike). Takes in Dunster, Quantock Hills, levels to Glastonbury Tor, the City of Wells then Cheddar Gorge and Mendip hills. I have the guide book and Gpx files of this. If you search the title you will see about it.

Britain is in turmoil ATM. Like most of Europe. I really hope you move to Yorkshire, but I think it'll be a few years before we change things for the better here Christina. In the meantime it shouldn't t affect your hiking plans and we can't wait to have you back.

Hiker Sheep & Bobo
Starting April 2026, I will be walking the length of Britain from the very bottom of England (Land's End) to the top of Scotland (John O'Groats). The walk is called Land's End to John O'Groats (LEJOG). This is a "create-your-own route" walk and it is about 1200 miles and it will take about 3 months. Planning the route is so exciting!! I'll be walking through south west England which I've never been, Wales, the midlands, northern England and the length of Scotland.
I'll be walking with a friend and hopefully everything will go well and we won't annoy each other too much. 😅
If you have done LEJOG and have a route recommendations where to go or not to go, please post in the comment.
Tentative route:
- South West Coast Path
- Offa's Dyke Path
- Going to Iron Bridge
- Pennine Way (for the 3rd time yay!)
- Scottish National Trail to Blair Atholl
- East Highland Trail through the Cairngorms
- John O'Groats Trail
After that, Ben and Bobo will come for another 3 months and we will be traveling around England to different villages to get a feel of what living in the UK is like.
I am currently in Jakarta, Indonesia tending to my mum's recovery from a heart surgery. She needs me!
