A few treats from Ashland, VA today.

1: CSX M408 NB with a reactivated Dash 8 and some Dash 9s in tow. Could tell they were reactivated because they still had their horns, and their smokestacks were not capped. Hey, I’m not complaining at all! I’m glad to see them back!

2: Amtrak P125 SB with Phase IV HU #164. One reason 164 (formerly 184) is my favorite Amtrak HU is because I love how it matches the coaches it’s pulling. My favorite classic Amtrak scheme is Phase III though (I love 145, but it would be cooler if it had the actual Genesis Phase III scheme. I mean they did the Pepsi Can one, so I don’t see why not).

3: CSX M369 NB with a BNSF C44-9W leader. Notice how the second unit is the, as someone called it, “Gruesome Twosome”. It’s supposed to be an H2 Dash 9, but has H1 paint on the long hood.

These are the three trains I also recorded on my phone, to add to my Instagram story. Other trains I’ve caught here include CSX L134 (turn local) with a solo ex-L&N GP38-2, CSX I031 with an SD70MAC leader, two separate Phase VII P42 leaders (one led P079, the other led P092/P040), P053 had a triple pack of P40DCs, also Amtrak P093 had my first Phase VII Amfleet (in the scheme reminiscent of the short lived old Capstone Acela Regional livery). Also tested out my new GoPro with a few of the trains.
