Nah Tokugawa famously loved electric guitar, it was the Meiji restoration that banned it to make their music seem more proper.

i don't remember the original commenter but i remember someone mentioning how the ancient shogunates did in fact enjoy shredding it on electric guitars during epic battles against true heroes and legendary foes.

A common misconception! The Electric Guitar is actually pivotal in shaping most of Japan's musical tastes. If you search older scrolls, you can see Toyotomi Hideyoshi using one to motivate his troops in battle. The Sick Rifts and clean chops lead his army into multiple victories, and ultimate led to the unification of Japan. The country would not be the way it is today without the powerful improve from an Electric Guitar. (Source: Dynasty Warriors)

A common misconception. You see, the first guitar was crafted by Susanoo-no-Mikoto, when he slayed Yamata-no-Orochi. He used its necks to craft the first guitar. He used this guitar to play outside the cave where Ookami-Amaterasu had hidden, luring her to come out again with his sick shredding skills. Amaterasu would eventually exit the cave later quoted as stating that the whole thing was "Very rad". It's basic japanese culture guys

Its your feckin channel, man, you do such a good goddamn job presenting the traditional Japanese instruments as the stars, but sometimes you need to feckin shred.

I grew up playing Bushido Blade, which was all about that traditional Japanese vibe with modern instruments. The electric guitar and katana are practically inseparable in my mind.

If it sounds good, I don't mind. I'm just here for the sick music, the aesthetics are just a cherry on top.

I think that using the electric guitar is completely understandable within a traditional japanese remix of a song

I do remember that Rock was very favored in Bakumatsu period

I'm sorry, but I have to agree that the electric guitar isn't a traditional Japanese instrument. It's a very common mistake to mix up the electric guitar and mayonnaise regarding their musical origins.
