All of the social media sites have broken the social contract. We allow them access to our personal data because we think they'll show us what's in our curated personal interest. But instead they are showing us what is in their financial interest. The advertisers are calling the shots. This is why antitrust laws should be put into effect against these companies. All of them. They abuse our trust.

No, we share our data because we have to if we want to watch content, not because we think there's some social contract whereby YouTube is going to curate viewing for us with no advertising incentive. I think you're just getting salty because you're a weedtuber and YouTube has decided to not promote people getting high anymore. It didn't make sense that weedtubers could just hit a bong and then receive money from YouTube when the video content was unfavorable for the advertisers, partially because it's illegality or controversy. Weedtubing really died because the creators killed it.... as soon as YouTube stopped paying creators to get high the creators killed their own channels by only making sponsored content displaying rubbish chinese products with high profit margins for any and every retailer/manufacturer. We were no longer watching funny smoking challenges but instead watching customgrow show off another whack ass product that he never uses himself, displaying how it doesn't work and then claiming it to be FIL-THY regardless. This meant that even the regular loyal viewers stopped watching and none of the weedtubers was smart enough to use their own huge following to monetize content properly themselves (eg selling THEIR OWN products, not just creating 1000 rubbish videos for generic retailers selling tat). Y'all had hundreds of thousands of followers and u decided to bombard them all with videos about thoroughly unimpressive and almost identical Chinese vaporizers until we got bored and stopped watching.
