What I learned from my journey from over 500 to under 200lbs. My weight was not failure — it was misinformed strategy.
I carried the weight as: a shield a way to suppress dangerous desire or power a theological obedience a way to stay humble a way to remain safe inside a system that punished embodied agency
My body was the prison that kept others comfortable. It was a self-imposed cage built to prevent a feared version of myself—sexual, powerful, expressive, boundaryless...free.
Once I stopped fearing myself, freeing myself was the natural next step.
