It's not a hot take, but most people don't bother to have a ranged option in their build, it helps out a lot, I always have a bow with me

Not getting to see the age of darkness is one of the biggest blue balls of gaming

There is not a single bad game in the series, to the point where your "favorite" isnt special, they are all good

You don’t need to beat the game on a dance pad whilst blindfolded in order to say you’ve beaten the game.

The biggest disservice ever done to the Soulsborne games was all the "Prepare to Die!" marketing that has made half the Internet think they're meant to be an ordeal challenge to the player's manhood instead of fun action RPGs with amazing world design and lore. Speaking of world design, "how fast can I run through this area, ignoring all of it so I can get to the boss?" is not the sole measure of how good or bad an area is.

Lot of "hardcore players" don't actually like dealing with hard stuff, i see that specially in the dark souls games

I feel like summoning friends/npcs/summons/hunters is fun and feels like beating a challenge as a team

Elden ring should have had a quest journal, I don't need an arrow marker or anything like that. Just some notes on what the npc said and their proximate location

Even though I know this is a minority take I actually wish the games focused less on combat intensity and mechanical skill. It feels more and more like a rhythm game playing newer souls games. I played the originals because of the exploration, atmosphere, unmatched level design, artistic style, and world building. I liked being a careful cautious explorer, trying to survive through a broken and dark world. Now I feel like I’m just dodge rolling over and over like I’m playing a rhythm game in a Japanese arcade more than anything else. Exploration is still pretty good though haha

Not everything that makes everyone feel something in the games will make you feel the same way as them

second half of ds1 isn't bad, only rushed, and the only area I don't actually like is Lost Izalith
