Follow-up on the Short I made regarding Gemini. I ended up manually making the form in MS Paint. Now if the problem was me not wording the prompt correctly, please prove me wrong by getting Gemini to make something like this. This form is meant to be filled out by hand, the empty spaces are needed for writing info in.
I’m not anti-AI, in fact I just gave my father a device that transcribes his doctor’s appointments and uses AI to create a summary that I can look at. THAT is a good use of AI.

@panagiotispappas1001

Problem is that companies try to make AI good in stuff that we don’t want AI in, and ignore to improve AI in where it would actually be useful.

AI is best when supplementing humans: helping solve complicated math, organize data, or light text summarization. Ai is worst when made to replace humans: Deep Fakes, Generative Content Slop, Any professional career like coding or writing

@pwrdprompt

I am not nesicarily anti-ai, I just dont approve of ai being an art form and ai being shoved into every corner of my life. Ai is useful, as long as it isn't shoved down your throat.

Some suggested asking Gemini 2.5 Pro to make a PDF instead, here's what it said "I can certainly help you create a visually optimized form for your refurbished laptop inventory. While I can't directly generate a PDF file, I can generate a high-quality image of the form that you can easily print, which will serve the same purpose for filling out by hand. Here's an image of the inventory form designed to be easy to read and write on, incorporating all your required specifications and optional checkboxes:" (it then gave me an image that had more typo's than the original and listed "Webcam" 3 times. And when I tried to make it export a spreadsheet or a template, it simply gave me a basic spreadsheet with no room to write anything or check stuff off. Please enlighten me on how to get AI to output something similar to the above image.

Ironically, I think the fastest way to make this is using a pen and a ruler, and then just photocopy it.

Mr. Techsperts, I must inform you that one of our techtuber brethren has been terminated. His channel was @Endermanch and had 350k subscribers and was terminated about a hour ago at the time of writing. We cannot allow YouTubes AI to continue on this path of destruction. If anyone sees this, spread the word and help get this man replatformed.

Ofc personally I would probably make it myself. But if I was FORCED to use AI, I'd ask it to make it in markdown or LaTeX or something. Everything "image" AI is bad IMO, while a lot of "text" things they do "ok" (and some they do very well, transcription as you mentioned in your post is a good example [when the audio is decent and preferably if it is only one person talking])

@Knight_ofGames

I once tried doing this with copilot- it made a weird Box-Pattern sheet with only the word PC written as a header (i tasked it to make a list of pc specs like OS, GPU and RAM) . And this is what 3 GPU shortages and scalping for ai has brought us…

@ComDenox

I think the main issue is the fact that it is an image. Even though the image is mostly text, the AI model used is completely different than the usual text-generating one, and is way way less optimized. Maybe Copilot in Word would bring better results? Having an environment with the option to make a table while being mostly text-based.

Nice job on the form! I know it's a manual process but Google Docs has templates for something like this too
