Think About It

STOP putting down the Book of Enoch Christians! (I know NOT all of you are.)
The Tanakh did not contain the Book of Enoch. It was excluded from the formal canon of the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and is NOT considered a sacred work within Rabbinic Judaism.
The Torah and Tanakh are NOT the same! Although the Book of Enoch was widely read during the Second Temple period and fragments have been found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, it was not incorporated into the Tanakh.
The reasons for its exclusion include theological differences, such as its teachings on fallen angels and the corruptibility of man, which did not align with orthodox Jewish teachings, as well as its focus on mystical and apocalyptic themes rather than legal and ethical concerns.
The Anshei Knesses Hagedolah, who determined the canon of the Tanakh, did not include it, and its absence from the Hebrew Bible is a "key reason it was not accepted as canonical."
