12 years ago today I said goodbye to everything I ever knew. I caught a train from Delaware to Florida with nothing but the clothes on my back. I had been homeless for over a decade and weighed 130 pounds. I was a 3 time convicted felon on the run for 1st degree armed bank robbery. I had no hope left, and the only future I had to look forward to was life behind bars.

I still don’t know exactly what made me get on that train that day, other than The Holy Spirit.
A divine encounter with a loving God who wouldn’t give up on me, even when I wanted to give up on myself. A God that says “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future”. (Jeremiah 29:11)
A God that works all things to the good for those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.(Romans 8:28)

Fast forward 12 years and I am no longer homeless or a slave to drugs and alcohol. I am happily married with an amazing family. We get to travel the country together and share the gospel, and not only did the state of Delaware drop those robbery charges, but they wiped my slate clean as well and now I get to go into prisons and share my testimony with those who are still lost in darkness.

So Although today will always hold a special spot in my heart, God humbled me and taught me a while back not to make an idol out of my recovery or take credit for the things that He’s done in my life. It’s all Him, and He gets all the praise. Yesterday, today, and forever. ❤️‍🔥✝️🙌
