Phil The Peach

Good evening y’all, hope everyone is doing well! I know I don’t hop on the Veggietales community nearly as much anymore, because life got real busy for me, I started working a full time job and I’m heading off to college next month, but I do still and will always support every last one of you, and will always be a Veggietales obsessed fan for life, which is what also led me to this post, as I’m aware of the new Larryboy movie and saw many of you touch on this subject, and I just wanted to go ahead and do the same thing as well.

This is gonna be a lot of venting lol so be warned😂..

When I initially saw the Larryboy movie news last year, I had thought it was just another soulless cash grab by Universal who wouldn’t let Phil and Mike work on let alone voice characters for. But I still figured hey I might as well go see it when it comes out and stuff since it is still VeggieTales ya know? Like many of you I wasn’t aware of who this Kingstone studio company was, I just thought it was a small branded Christian movie studio production company. But after scrolling around on their website and social media, seeing their ugly AI videos, I was appalled by the laziness, and started to worry alot if AI was gonna impact the Larryboy movie that same way, but I figured “no way since it’s a set to be theatrical-released film”.
Boy was I wrong.

A few weeks later, I see these VeggieTales AI test videos pop up from their studio. I was absolutely speechless. Had no words whatsoever. The entire timeline of VeggieTales instantly flashed before my eyes, thinking about all the hard work Phil and Mike put into VeggieTales in the 90s, the great quality the show carried into the 2000s, and the consistency into the 2010s, but then to see this. Like I don’t even know how to describe it. I have zero words. I wanted to throw up. I wanted to cry. I wanted to escape my reality. All these mixed feelings. Just thinking to myself, “is this the future we’re looking at? A bunch of lazy people using AI for everything?” Then I started thinking much deeper than just VeggieTales, I’m terrified that the entertainment industry in general is a crumbling empire, and honestly as much as I hate to admit it, it absolutely is. All we’ve seen the past 5 years is cash grabs, reboots, and sequels, and now in 2025, heartless AI?
‪@VeggieTalesUnofficial‬ stated it best, it’s not even human made animation anymore! I think you’ll all agree with me on this, that was the BARE MINIMUM. It makes me wonder what the entertainment industry will look like even 5 years from now. Will we lose all human made animation in the corporate world? It’s looking like talented animators on Youtube such as ‪@Cmanflip‬, ‪@GourdAnimations‬ and many others are our only hope for the future of seasoned animation. It’s just so crazy to think that we went within a 30 year span from just scratching the surface of CGI animation, to having artificial intelligence make heartless CGI for us. And it’s honestly scary, scary to see how much AI is taking over the Earth within every branch: entertainment, medical, education, and so many others. But seeing my soft spot, VeggieTales, get shot at this hard by AI just broke my heart. It’s a perfect reminder for all of us, that the stuff on this Earth is temporary, and that Heaven is where we need to adhere our minds to, because that’s eternal; Jesus Christ, someone who can’t be taken over by AI, He’s someone that remains in control no matter what!

So y’all, times are gotta get rough with VeggieTales, and seeing this AI junk is gonna hurt real real bad, as Larry says, “like the dickens”. But we have each other. And we have (fingers crossed) the Phil and Mike show! It might be over for VeggieTales the franchise, but we knew Universal was never gonna give it proper care from the get go, and well, at least we can say VeggieTales had a good run. For 30 years it did wonders for families around the globe, teaching Biblical values to millions, and making so many childhoods memorable. And even though VeggieTales the series is about to take a serious nose dive, Phil and Mike are still going strong in other works they have made, so we can still keep supporting them, as well as looking back on the 30 amazing years we got from VeggieTales. But let’s all keep standing strong together, praying that maybe a miracle will happen! But most importantly just let this be a reminder that EVERYTHING on this Earth is temporary, and that following God is what truly matters most in this life.

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
