We burn ourselves out trying to control what was never in our control. How someone sees us. What they think. What they say. Even the justice we want to see.
Allah says: رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا “He is Lord of the east and west, there is no god but Him, so take Him as your Protector.” (73:9)
A wakil is the one you hand things over to when you can’t handle them. This ayah is teaching us to do that with Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ was mocked and insulted. Rumors spread and it hurt him. But Allah told him, don’t carry that weight. Leave it to Me.
And that’s our reminder. Do what’s in your hands. Let go of what isn’t. Trusting Allah isn’t just saying tawakkul ‘ala Allah. It’s the courage to stop trying to control what you can’t.
