Do you like the Bad Batch version of Gregor?

Context for the third option in case it was a little cryptic: the war left its scars on all of us meaning, you miss the old Gregor, but understand that the new one is the way he is because of the misfortunes of war (in his case, head injury). He may be a little weird now, but that’s not his fault. You love your trooper for his service anyway! There, did that make sense?

Gregor’s a little messed up in the head, but we love him for it

I actually liked both,We got to see his backstory a bit but the Batch storyline was cooler because we got to see more of him.

War leaves scars even on those who have no wounds, what in this case can be said about those who have passed through its hell😢

Gregor was one of my all time favourite side characters in Clone Wars (I remember when those episodes were airing I was getting REALLY done with the droid shenanigans but tuned right the hell back in for Gregor, and I was really bummed he was only there for a couple episodes because I found his situation so compelling), along with Cut Lawquane. I recently watched Bad Batch, and was happy to see Gregor there, resilient as ever. I know a lot of people think Gregor should've been more serious or cut up about what happened to him, but I have a few thoughts on that. First, he might quietly feel a sense of betrayal or hurt over how he was abandoned that he doesn't express. Second, he might genuinely just kinda be a silly dude when he's chillin (which I think is supported by the fact that when he's stressed, like when he's running from the base or hating his job as a dishwasher, he gets pretty stoic). Third, he's probably a little goofier now because he's doing better, building a life for himself that has friendships and purpose. He doesn't have to be serious. And I think that's a wonderful little act of rebellion, too; the clones were made to be soldiers, with no care or consideration given to their well-being or humanity. It's a quiet rebellion for them to be happy. So I like that once he's processed the shock and trauma of what happened to him, Gregor is able to build himself back up a bit and have some fun doing it. Also as someone who's had a (admittedly much less serious) head injury, I can attest that everything is a strange mix of confusing, frightening, and absolutely hilarious when you're concussed. I'm no expert on long-term side effects of serious head injuries, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gregor also just kinda has less of a filter and thinks more stuff is funny than might be normal as a result of getting his head rattled a little too hard. Brain injuries can cause some changes in how you process and express emotions, and Gregor's really been wracking them up (I wouldn't be surprised if he sustained a second one in his last stand when we saw him in The Clone Wars). I'm starting Rebels right now (I didn't watch it when it aired bc between Clone Wars ending and Rebels beginning I ended up not having cable anymore) and I know Gregor shows up there, so hopefully I like how he's portrayed there. But overall, I'm fine with him getting kinda weird as he slows down. It feels like he's relaxing. Honestly, the main thing that bugged me about his return in Bad Batch was how his voice had changed (my partner and I kept joking that he was asking for a glass of water between scenes but the Batch was too busy with the plot to notice that he hadn't had water in days). But that was mostly just surprising.

I really liked the way Gregor was in the CW. I feel like that kind of mental and physical trauma of being left for dead, “enslaved”, extorted, abused, brainwashed and lied to, should’ve left him more damaged in a more somber manner than a goofy one. I get what they were going for, taking all that trauma and giving him a more insane/ goofy manner, but I think it would’ve turned him into a more reclusive, quiet Ronin like killer. Destroyed on the inside, silent. It deadly on the outside. But I still do like Gregor the way they made him. Though I do feel him, Rex, and Wolffe weren’t given the proper attention in the Star Wars Rebels. I thought Gregor shouldn’t have gone the way he did.

I do cause I got used to his design very quickly. It kinda happens when a character gets an upgrade

I think it ties pretty nicely between TCW S5 and Rebels, but a bit more back story couldn’t hurt

I knew who he was from the CW, but the rest of my family didn’t, so I think they found his detached ways a little… unnerving 😝

Liked him at any point, and if he's a little off in the head, so what?

looking at everyones long essays 👀 I'm sorry, I do not have the intellectual ability to think that much and write it down in a coherent jumble. xD But yes... the war left scars on all of us...
