Jeremiah 8:10-12 Because from the least even to the greatest everyone is given to covetousness; from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely. For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; In the time of their punishment they eshall be cast down,” says the Lord.
This is a message about the peril of false teaching; led by greed and covetousness. I do believe that most have good intentions at first. But when that money starts rolling in, people tend to change. Why? Because money changes people. The fear of the Lord has faded into the background. The sad part about it is that people are falling for this now more than ever; they compromise, giving into selfish desires. God weighs the intents of the heart.
When the money comes, there’s no spiritual guidance as to how to handle it. Without the gifts of the Spirit, we will not be able to handle or know how to handle IF the Lord decides to bless us financially. We must learn how to live with little; we must be dependent on His Word rather than His hand. For His Word promises that His hand will provide our needs (Matthew 6:25-34). He knows what we need and when we need it and He will send it in the appointed time.
But, I digress. We must know the Word of God so when the lies come, we can recognize them. We are in a time where people who should know the Word refuse to hear the Word. So, we must go to those who know not the Word and tell the true Word of the living God; the truth of salvation through none other than Christ Jesus our Lord. We must stop with all of the pomp and pageantry and go back to the basics. Yes?
