I absolutely love this type of campaign. Focusing on helping your community before you even get people going to the ballot box would be nice to see from more candidates.

I am thrilled to announce that today my campaign is announcing its High School Public Service Grant program! We want to use our resources to empower young people to help their communities this summer, especially as we all get hit with the full force of Trump's disastrous economic policies. This is just one of the many outreach and mutual aid initiatives we've got planned and I'm so excited to hear applicants' ideas!
If you or someone you know is interested in applying, please make sure your application will abide by all three requirements:
1. All projects must center around mutual aid, i.e. the idea that we can all use our skills, talents, and privileges to support, lean on, and lift up our communities. This could be anything: community gardens, ride-share systems, at-home IT support, skillshares, grocery delivery, and a billion other ideas. If there’s an issue in your community that you care about, we want to help you build and develop a solution.
2. Applications must include a plan. To approve your proposal, give us an idea of what you’ll need to accomplish your goal. How much money, material, and labor will you need? Do you have to get permissions or fill out paperwork for your project? What ideal end result will your actions have in your community?
3. You must be a high school student or 2025 high school graduate in Illinois’ Ninth District.
