He's supposed to be a hero, a jedi to the very end. Not a hopeless bitter old man.

It's kinda wild how those in Disney Star Wars said quote "You just dislike Luke because he wasn't some OP power fantasy, he was fine in TLJ, he shouldn't be perfect." Which is strange considering that.... 1. Luke wasn't just handed this power unlike a certain other character(Rey), who the fans funnily enough have no issues with and will make excuses for. Luke meanwhile worked his butt off for decades, traveling the galaxy, learning what he could and he grew. Also EU Luke wasn't perfect either, he had his struggles and had nearly fallen completely to the dark side at least twice. The guy wasn't perfect, if he was no one would like him. 2. I would expect Luke Skywalker, son of the Chosen One to be extremely powerful by this time because of the afore mentioned growth that he went through to get to that point. Him not being extremely powerful wouldn't make sense narratively speaking, given the amount of growth he went under. 3. The whole "Power Fantasy" argument falls completely flat, when to those who know the EU in-depth....the power scale as far as Force Users was always pretty high up there to begin with. So Luke being as powerful as he is...makes sense within the context of the broader Star Wars narrative that had been established for decades. The lowest of the low Force Adepts in Star Wars EU, could potentially dominate entire tribes worth of people, random Dark Jedi could conquer entire planets if they were powerful enough. To say nothing of actual characters who can be extremely powerful. I mean even going back as the West End Games/Wizards of the Coast material, you could potentially make a pretty busted Force User character. So no, as far as I see it...Luke Skywalker wasn't some "OP Power Fantasy, perfect character" character, he was extremely powerful yes, but that didn't just come out of nowhere, he had to get to that point through work and effort put into it. The only people who'd call him as such, are those who never looked beyond the movies.

Through EU Grandmaster Luke, we get a good idea of what Anakin could have been had he reached his full potential. Much like with Superman, people dislike EU Luke because of how powerful he is, but if you ask me, that's much of the reason why I like both of these characters. Despite being some of the most powerful characters in fiction, Superman and EU Grandmaster are the embodiment of Lawful good in their respected universes.

The real Luke is a hero everyone should strive to be. Also, how do you feel about those people who call Luke a terrorist? I think those are Top 5 fakest fans of the bunch imo
