Hello Chef, I always enjoy watching your videos. My husband and I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, Calif. Very diverse. We grew up on Southern cooking brought from our parents who are from, Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia. A lot of your cooking methods are similar to my Father. I wish I paid more attention to my parents Southern cooking while growing up. I did enjoy my parents and grandparents cooking while growing up in the 1960's and 1970's. I still frown at chitterlings due to watching my Mother cleaning them. I will give it one more try. Lol. Well I'm still sticking around and going no where. Keep bringing those delicious recipes. I'm learning cooking techniques from you I never knew. Blessings to you and your family. Esmeralda from S F. Bay Area, CALIFORNIA

I thank you for doing it right. My mom used to make an okra tomato casserole with just a tinge of salt pork. Somehow it was tinged with toasted bread strips. Served with grits. I tried making this and my “toast” strips would burn. On her death bed I asked and she mumbled out stove top sautee the bread in butter. Have you ever had anything similar? She was from Lakeland
