The band, consisting of Scottish powerhouse vocalist Lesley Rankine, Andrew “Fuzz” Duprey (guitar), Chris P. Mowforth (bass), and Stuart Watson (drums), were key players in the Camden “lurch” scene—grunge before it was mainstream. Rankine, a fierce feminist, popularised the slogan “Hips, Tits, Lips, Power,” embodying the band's confrontational energy. Their October 1989 John Peel session captured their raw intensity, including a radio-friendly version of “Shit Out of Luck,”. The recordings reflected their chaotic, loud, and uncompromising live shows, cementing their reputation as a fearless band.
