The U.S. Capitol is a neoclassical landmark based on Greek and Roman architecture. It is an architecturally complex building, and our studio was the first to create a 1:87 scale model of the U.S. Capitol. The overall dimensions of the model are 118x118 inches.

The construction of the U.S. Capitol began in 1793 and was “completed” several times. The original building was finished in 1826. The growth of Congress necessitated its expansion in the mid-19th century; the additions and the new dome were completed in 1868.

The model consists of two parts:

1) The surrounding grounds and entrance area.
2)The building itself and the Rotunda — a round architectural structure surrounded by columns and crowned with a dome.

The Rotunda was completed under the direction of Charles Bulfinch in 1824. Designed during the neoclassical era, it was intended to evoke the ancient Roman Pantheon. Bulfinch created a grand composition of architecture, sculpture, and painting in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. That’s why this part deserves special attention in our model as well.

@adriann2649

Good work, but I need to rest my mind about the US. I'm tired of so much saturation with that country bothering everyone, every day, every hour, every minute.
