Thank you for this channel. I'm 72 and have been playing off and on for a long time. I've never made any serious progress, although when I was younger, I was pretty decent. I've determined to learn the Pentatonic scales and notes on the fretboard because I love the Blues. At my age it's a challenge, but I know I can do it. I really enjoy your channel and it's been very helpful in many ways. Thanks again. Bob.

I have been hitting on a few of your utube podcasts and have gotten some very good info especially in the area of utilizing scales in horizontal patterns which I could not understand. Just to be able to move about the fret board is what I want to be able to do. Good Instructional classes.

Rusty I love all of your suggestions and tips. They are magnificent. One thing Rusty, you recently changed the neck pickup on your sunburst strat. What is it and what is the preamp you use with it. It is definitely an improvement to the overall sound quality. Keep on worshipping brother. I too love playing in a praise band.

Hello Rusty, First song I learned in a band in Jr High was, (I Ain't going to eat out my Heart Anymore.) BY the young rascals. of coarse that was about 60 years ago. We used to play the school dances and the high school dances too. After high school I did the Fair grounds around the states for a while Now I just play for fun I live 20 miles out of town in the mountains of Oregon. Retired I just shovel snow and write and record my own songs for fun all winter. Cheap looper and a cell phone recording studio. LOL I call it the Bottom of the Barrel Studio. LOL I like your church channel too. I could use some help with some church songs I've written. They need a little love in. They aren't doing GOD justice If you want to Co-conspirer. if interested let me now we could work over a mailable flash drive being your west of Chicago LOL. Love your channel by the way.

Hello Rusty, My name is Diogo, I’m from Brazil. This is my first time on your channel. I really enjoyed your explanation about blues soloing — I’m a big admirer of the style. I know the minor and major pentatonic scales and the chords used in Blues (I-IV-V). However, I’m still missing the “blues language.” I feel that just knowing the scales and chords, and watching you play, isn’t enough — I’d still be just a mere imitator. So, if possible, I’d like you to explain how blues phrases are actually built. For example, I often hear that Blues, among other things, uses triplets in the construction of phrases. In other words, the idea would be to understand the “building blocks” used in Blues so I can create my own phrases. Perhaps an explanation of the key points through tablature would be of great value. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Hey Rusty, Lee here. Here's my journey in a nut-shell: - 1980-83 percussion & mallets in the middle school band - 1983-91 choir in high-school and college as well as at church - 1992 I learned to play the acoustic guitar to accompany songs in our Bible study group (self-taught); mostly open chords and barré chords, strumming and finger-style. - 2001 to present: church worship band - 2022: bought an electric and have been trying to learn how to play it since then. I find that playing electric is totally different from playing acoustic, and you need different skills: fretboard familiarity, string muting, palm muting, bending, etc. What I find most helpful are videos on playing rhythm guitar, though I have noticed that those don't generate many clicks for the youtube-algorithm compared to song-tutorials or videos on playing lead guitar.

Hi Rusty, I really like your guitar lessons. I have learned alot of techniques from you. I'm at the moment trying to improvise 'The house of the rising sun' by the Animals. Could you show me a way to do this using single notes but making it sound like a variation of my own music if you understand what I mean. Thanks for your support in this musical journey mate. 👍🎶

Can anyone, anyone at all, see Rustys "Community Post Section?" I don't seem to see it, or any community post sections on any site. I wonder if it has been rolled back, or perhaps it's only for YouTube premium subscribers.
