What benefits exactly would my old PC get from switching to Linux? I mean, Windows 11 is absolute hogwarsh shit, I have it on my laptop and I wouldn't install it on my PC even if I got paid for that

My laptop can be "upgraded"... Windows Update has been telling me so since Win11 was released. So, this coming weekend I will receive the larger SSD I've ordered, and then I'll do a fresh crisp Linux install, retiring Windows as my daily driver the second time this century... Last time it took me 10 years before I came back. This time it's primarily about how difficult it is to avoid using a Microsoft account for login... recall and how they're trying to make AI an integrated part of the OS. I'm not having it.

My PC is compatible with Windows 11, and I'm using Windows 11 on it, I love Linux don't get me wrong, but on my laptop(ThinkPad X13 Gen 1) Linux has been horrible with really unstable CPU frequencies(between 1.6GHz and 3.6GHz, with frequencies below 3GHz being the most common), on Windows 11 the CPU frequencies are stable at 4GHz and never go below 3GHz... And nothing I did worked on Linux to fix these unstable CPU frequencies.
