According to your own personal criteria, where would you rank Pokémon's POISON type??

Excellent defenses, only really bad into steel psychic and… it’s either rock or ground that resists it, but it’s probably ground because only psychic and ground hit it super effective.

Poison types may not be super effective against much, and a lot might overlook poison for that. In my eyes, the goal of poison types is to cause panic with some slick poison (I guess that's kind of obvious LOL) and stay alive to watch it slowly claim your opponents. Muk is a perfect example of this. If you don't take him out fast, you're gonna have a real problem. Minimize, and Acid Armor, as well as Drain Punch and a pretty rough stab with Gunk Shot. Which alone is pretty nice. Most poison users would send something like that out after your team's been sucked into a toxic spikes loop, making Most Poison types, or Ghost types that much more tough to deal with. (Ghost because of Rapid Spin.) Point is, I think Poison is a great type. I know I gave Muk the spotlight here but it serves as a great example of what I think the Poison types stand for. I would give it a low A. The main reason it isn't higher is coz the steel type exists. But I see a whole lot of potential in Poison types. I know a lot won't, but I say it deserves some flowers

It's got decent defensive profiles sometimes, but it's never been very useful offensively until Fairies were added outside of the Toxic status. Literally the only thing they hit super effectively apart from Fairies is Grass.
