China’s Central New Energy Holding Group has partnered with data centre operator EGN to expand solar projects in Oman and explore local PV module manufacturing. The collaboration will focus on an integrated “generation-grid-load-storage” project powered by green energy, while also building infrastructure to support AI-driven data centres.

Beyond project development, the partnership aims to localize the value chain by investing in component production, training local talent, and setting new industrial standards. This move aligns with Oman’s growing clean energy ambitions and China’s expanding role in scaling renewable energy and digital infrastructure in the Middle East.
