In my experience, Frederick Douglas isn't focused on enough in school. This ought to be interesting

My HS American Lit teacher in the 90s had us watch a couple of his speech reenactments. They were good.

Without free black people in America, how would other black people be treated today? Americans ended the slave trade in north Africa. Our economic and social pressure ended Apartheid in south Africa. Always want to crap on America but what would the world look like without it. We didn't colonize Africa or start the world wars.

Throughout human history, forced servitude, slavery, indentured service exists (perhaps anong 'classes' of people) If you are not good (faithful) at administering duties at lower levels, should you be trusted to administer at higher levels ?
