Most don’t realize that us reenactors get a whole lot more out of the experience by seeing our old friends and spending time getting to know so much and so many awesome people to boot!

In the 4/5 picture the guy with the glasses is portraying the 60th Infantry Regiment of the 9th Infantry Division. I’ve never seen them get much attention, but it’s a good thing to see. They landed under fire in French Morocco near Port Lyautey in Operation Torch, fought in Sicily — flanking the Germans by surprise, forcing their artillery to withdraw from Troina, landed D+4 in Normandy and helped to seal off the Cotentin Peninsula and fought in the battle of Cherbourg, took part in Operation Cobra, entered Belgium in early September 1944, fought in the Hürtgen Forest, the Battle of the Bulge near Monschau, then crossed over into Germany in March and ended the war fighting in the Harz Mountains. And of course, our guy is in the 16th Infantry Regiment with quite the history as well.

It was so nice seeing you there. I was in a market garden pair trooper uniform and me and my friend was also in the same kind of uniform. It was so nice seeing you there. Hope to see you next year.

So excited to discover this Normandy reenactment so close to home. I live in Maryland and am used to Civil War and Revolutionary war reenactments but had no idea there was a WW 2 reenactment here in the states! I was too late for this year but I intend to attend next year!

I was there Thursday. It was definitely worth the hour and a half long drive. Although, I did not get to meet or see you, I did take photographs right next to your editor that makes your videos. I will not disclose his name. As soon as he mentioned that he edits your videos, my eyes lit up and told him I’m a huge fan and showed him that I am a subscriber. He was an awesome dude.

World War Wisdom
Yet another successful D-Day Ohio in the books! The displays and battles at this re-enactment were outstanding as usual, but my interactions with the other reenactors and spectators who attend the event is what really made it so special for me. I got to catch up with many old friends, made plenty of new friends (including so many of you who follow me on social media and came by to say hello), and I even had the pleasure of talking to a WWII veteran who kindly shared some of his stories from the war with me. I represented a rifleman in the 16th Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division again this year, and I’ll be sharing the first battle reenactment video from the event later this week.
Can’t wait to be back next year!
